What We Treat

Common presentations that show up across the spine, joints, and surrounding tissue.

Tightness That Patterns Through the Body

Restrictions in one area rarely stay put. A tight hip can pull the low back. A guarded shoulder can change neck mechanics. This includes structural patterns like scoliosis that influence how the body moves as a whole.

Aches That Keep Returning

Pain that comes back after stretching, rest, or other treatments usually has a driver further up the chain. Care addresses where the dysfunction lives, not just where it shows up.

Low Energy and Daily Fatigue

A body working against chronic restriction spends more effort on basic movement and has less left for everything else. When joints move the way they should, the day costs less.

Stress Held in the Body

Chronic stress shows up physically: in the jaw, the upper traps, the mid-back, the shoulders. Treatment works on the muscular and joint patterns that come from carrying it too long.

Posture and Movement Patterns

Forward head, rounded shoulders, anterior pelvic tilt. These patterns form from how the body has been used. Care works on the joints involved and the muscles that learned to hold them there.

Wellness and Maintenance

Patients who are not in pain but want to stay ahead of it. Regular care keeps joints moving well, which is the same model that supports family chiropractic care across all ages.

Dr. Yossi Stein, chiropractor at Stein Chiropractic in Clairemont, San Diego

Our Standard Since 1991

Dr. Yossi Stein runs Stein Chiropractic the way it has run since 1991: one doctor, every patient, every visit. His father, Dr. Richard Stein, founded the practice and set that standard.

Every visit starts with what the body shows that day, and every adjustment has a reason he can explain. Before chiropractic, he worked as an EMT and ski patroller.

Holistic here doesn't mean vague. It means the body is treated as one connected system, grounded in anatomy and delivered with precision.

How We Treat

Three techniques, selected visit by visit for what the body presents with.

01

Chiropractic Adjustments

Precise, targeted adjustments restore motion to specific joints. Research on spinal manipulation has also measured short-term changes in the activity of the muscles around the treated joint.

02

Joint Mobilization

Controlled, low-amplitude movement applied to joints not ready for a high-velocity adjustment. Used on extremities and segments where the body needs a more measured approach.

03

Active Release Technique (ART)

A precise soft tissue technique for the muscles and fascia that pattern around restricted joints. Used to address adhesions and improve how tissue moves through its full range.

Understanding Holistic Chiropractic

The body is not a collection of separate parts. The skeletal system, the muscles that move it, and the connective tissue that wraps both are mechanically linked from head to toe.

Restriction in one region often shows up somewhere else. A tight hip can pattern into the low back. A stiff mid-back can limit shoulder mobility. This is why we look at the full picture, not just where the pain is loudest.

How Restriction Travels

Hip Low Back

A hip that won't extend forces the lumbar spine to make up the motion on every step.

Mid-Back Shoulder

A thoracic spine that won't rotate steals range from the shoulder, and reaching pays the price.

Ankle Knee

Lose a few degrees of ankle motion and the knee absorbs strain it was never meant to carry.

Jaw Neck

A clenched jaw and a stiff upper neck feed each other. Treating one without the other rarely holds.

Pelvis Stride

A pelvis off by a few degrees changes how each leg works on every step, and the whole gait follows.

Ribs Breath

Stiff rib joints shorten the breath, and shallow breathing keeps the neck and traps overworking.

What an Adjustment Actually Does

A precise adjustment restores motion to a specific joint. Research on spinal manipulation has measured short-term changes in muscle activity and motor control after care. That is the claim made here: specific, mechanical, and honest.

The whole-body benefit follows from the mechanics. A joint that moves well lets the muscles around it work the way they should. The regions up and down the chain stop compensating.

That is what holistic means at this practice. How spinal health connects to whole-body function covers this in more depth.

What to Expect

A first visit begins with Dr. Yossi Stein assessing how the body is moving as a whole. Care that day is matched to what the body presents with. Cash-pay, HSA and FSA accepted, and care moves visit by visit, at the pace you choose.
