Sports Injury Chiropractors in La Jolla

Both doctors address sports-related injuries to get you back on the playing field.

When most people think of the word “chiropractor,” they think of someone who fixes back pain. But at Stein Chiropractic Center, Dr. Richard Stein and Dr. Yossi Stein frequently help patients of all ages and from all walks of life address painful issues outside of their spine.

Chiropractic for Every Joint

Did you know that there are more than 360 joints in the human body? Each and every one of these joints can experience pain, stress, pressure and dis-ease. Using the same adjustment principals relating to the spine, our doctors are able to address injuries relating to your extremities and joints, including:

  • Upper Extremities:
  • Shoulders, Elbows, Wrists, Hands, TMJ
  • Lower Extremities:
  • Hips, Knees, Ankles, Feet

Though joint problems are very common in athletes, you don’t have to play sports to visit us for joint care.

How Are Joint Issues Diagnosed?

During your visit, we will review your situation in detail to get the best understanding of how to successfully manage it. Different tests will be employed, including:

  • Range of motion—assessing the joint to see if it moves normally.
  • Static palpation—determining the current alignment of the joint.
  • Motion palpation—a hands on test that allows us to assess where exactly the specific adjustment is most needed.
  • Muscle tests—allows our doctors to determine if your muscles are functioning correctly via pressure tests.

After your injury is fully understood, the doctor will present you with the best course of care to move forward, which may include the Gonstead adjustment technique—often known as the “Gold Standard” in chiropractic care. Our goal is to always provide you with a custom care plan that addresses your unique needs and gets you back to feeling your best.
